Abstract
Currently, due to the limited access and expensive raw materials of beech materials, manufacturers are increasingly turning to the technology of smelting synthetic cast iron obtained from iron ore materials, steel scrap, return of their own production, Sheet cutting, carving of fine steel, shavings and other low-grade low-carbon steel scrap through controlled remelting. In the context of the overall trend of greening the developments by the authors of this article, the use of used tires as a steel melt carburetor was previously proposed and successfully tested under current production conditions. The aim of this work was to describe and explain the behavior of the selected material during heating in a wide temperature range and to find theoretical grounds and prerequisites for its application as a carbonizer for the smelting of steel on synthetic cast iron. Theoretical research methods were applied, not involving direct experiments with the material, but based on existing and obtained information about it, - assessment of the possibility and conditions of chemical reactions and thermodynamic calculation of the change in material composition as a function of temperature using the methodology of professor A.M. Kutin. In the end, it is shown that induction smelting conditions create temperature conditions sufficient to obtain from material of exhaust autoshafts graphite-like structures and eventually carbon for the bonding of a metal melt and to remove from the system elements that impair the quality of the metal obtained.
