Abstract
For the operating conditions of blast furnaces of JSC "Ural Steel", features of the thermal state in the course of unsteady processes were investigated. The immediate reasons were fluctuations in the quality of the charge, regulation of the temperature and composition of the blast, as well as the distribution of materials and gases over the cross section of the furnace, which is superimposed on the influence of changes in the movement of materials in the descent funnels and below the tuyere level. With a change in the quality and distribution of the charge, the average duration of the transition period was equal to the time during which the charge in the flow zone changed 2 - 3 times. When the blast parameters were changed, the time of the transition state was less by the time of changing the charge in the flow zone. Changes in the force interaction of the mixture sweat and gas and the course of the reduction processes were reflected in the thermal state of the hearth with a shift in time equal to the average residence time of materials in the zone with almost complete use of heat. This zone constitutes on ⅔ of material flow zones. The forecast of rapid deviations of the thermal state excludes the influence of systematic errors in the control of the composition of the melted ma- terials.
Key words: blast furnace, cast iron, slag, thermal state, unsteady course of processes, transition period.
